Lesya Nikolayeva

International Expert on Sustainable Consumption and Production

Ms. Lesya Nikolayeva works as an International Expert on Sustainable Consumption and Production in the projects of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Europe Office on the issues of green economy, sustainable consumption and production. Lesya joined the Resource efficiency team of UNEP in September 2017 and has been implementing projects in the countries of Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia. Ms. Nikolayeva has been managing the UNDA project “Enhancing sustainable public procurement for the regional transition to inclusive green economy in Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia (EECCA)” in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

In 2019 and 2020 Ms. Nikolayeva was UNEP Focal Point of Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE) activities in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.

Before joining UNEP, Ms. Nikolayeva worked for a Geneva-based NGO Zoi Environment Network and International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Ukraine. Lesya holds a Bachelor Degree on Nature Protection Activities and a Master Degree on Environmental Management from the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv,

Ukraine. She is an author of several publications on climate change and security issues.
